Sunsets and Sunrises

Most people talk about sunrises.

New beginnings.
Fresh starts.
New opportunities.

And rightly so. There is something beautiful about the first light of a new day. It reminds us that no matter what happened yesterday, another chance is waiting on the horizon.

But lately, I've found myself appreciating sunsets just as much.

A sunset isn't failure.

A sunset isn't the end.

A sunset is permission to put something to rest.

To close a chapter.

To let go of something that no longer serves you.

To stop carrying something that has become too heavy.

Sometimes we spend so much time chasing the next sunrise that we forget the importance of a good sunset.

Before something new can begin, something old often needs to be laid down.

An old fear.

An old habit.

An old version of ourselves.

A disappointment.

A mistake.

A dream that no longer fits who we've become.

The sunset gives us space to breathe, reflect, and make room for what comes next.

That's the beauty of life.

No matter how dark the evening becomes, another sunrise is already on its way.

The horizon never stays empty for long.
